Take Art Ltd
Take Art is an Arts Development Agency, which serves the towns, villages and rural communities of Somerset.
We are a regularly funded organisation for Somerset County Council, the five Somerset District Councils, and Arts Council South West. Take Art began as a village performance scheme, in 1987, touring high quality performances to just 10 villages in Somerset. Since then the scheme has grown to over 80 village promoters, while Take Art itself has organically grown into five service areas, each delivering high quality arts projects across the county.
Our mission is to produce, promote and facilitate participation in the arts and continually to explore innovative ways in which artists can enrich communities.
Take Art delivers these through our five service areas:
- Take Art: Live High quality entertainment in village halls.
- Take Art: Start Bringing the arts to the Early Years and their families.
- Take Art: Create Long term multi-artform projects.
- Take Art: Dance Providing high quality experiences and opportunities for those interested in dance.
- Take Art: Theatre Creating new opportunities for writers, performers and theatre makers across the County.
