Celebrations and the celebratory arts happen on many scales, from making masks and hollowing out pumpkins to vast productions for carnival and bonfire night. They bring out people's creativity and ability to work together and involve arts that are for and include everyone, arts that are practical yet magical. Somerset is especially rich in these traditions and is a centre for Carnival traditions, as well as being the home of the world's most famous festival, Glastonbury.
